China presents a huge market for many New Zealand industries, but medical technology (MedTech) has the chance to be among the most successful. China offers New Zealand MedTech companies more than 1 billion possible consumers, along with opportunities for collaboration and investment from Chinese medical firms. Beyond Capital has recognised this potential and formed a partnership with the Consortium for Medical Device Technologies (CMDT).

The CMDT is a single point of contact for New Zealand’s national industry research network. It is a national industry research network between Callaghan innovation and five New Zealand universities: Auckland University, AUT, Victoria University, Canterbury University and Otago University.
